EXCHANGE RATES MAJOR INFLUENCE ON OUTBOUND TRAVEL IN 2015

Here is this month’s report on key tourism outbound markets around the world…

International tourist arrivals grew by 4.3% in the first eight months of 2015, according to the UNWTO. A major reason for this was the strength of the US dollar – undoubtedly a major factor at play in the increase of 5% in arrivals into Europe, and the 4% increase in the Asia Pacific, the Americas and the Middle East.

2015 will be known as the year in which the exchange rate was the strongest influencer of who travelled where and how much was spent. Continue reading …
